The Guardians of the Road project has been revitalized with a new application designed to enhance user experience and convenience. By joining the Road Guard project, you can play a crucial role in saving lives on the road.
Launched in 2016, the "Guardians of the Road - the road of all of us" initiative aims to boost awareness and encourage safe driving practices. As of January 1, 2023, the project is managed by the "Safe Path" association, dedicated to making our roads safer for everyone.
If you're over 18, you can contribute by downloading the "Road Guards" applet. It's user-friendly and efficient: simply activate the app before you start driving. When you witness a traffic violation, you can report it effortlessly using either a voice command or by pressing the Bluetooth button on your steering wheel. The applet will then record the incident and capture a description of the offense.
These reports are sent to a control center staffed by experienced volunteer traffic controllers. After review, a "letter on the way" is sent to the offending driver, including a link to the video evidence of their violation. In cases where the offense poses a significant threat to life, the report is escalated to the police for further action.
