Unlocking Every Weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles where players controlled numerous characters, each with unique weapons, Dynasty Warriors: Origins features a single protagonist who unlocks a diverse arsenal. This guide details how to acquire each weapon.
Weapon Acquisition in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Previous games linked weapons to specific characters, each with unique movesets. Dynasty Warriors: Origins streamlines this by allowing weapon swapping.
Starting with a sword, you'll gain additional weapons by defeating enemy officers in missions. Ideally, all nine primary weapons can be obtained before completing Chapter 3, though the specific officers encountered may vary. To ensure timely acquisition, follow this guide:
- Sword: Your starting weapon.
- Spear: Complete the Battle of Guangyang (Chapter 1). Purchase it for story progression.
- Gauntlets: Defeat Zhou Cang in the Battle of Guangzong (Chapter 1).
- Wheels: Defeat Zhang Ju in the Suppression of You Province (Chapter 2).
- Podao: Defeat any officer wielding this weapon in the Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits (Chapter 2).
- Staff: Defeat an officer within a hidden treasure chamber accessed via a secret passage during the Assassination of Dong Zhuo (Chapter 2).
- Twin Pike: Defeat Zhang Liao in the Battle of Hulao Gate (Chapter 2).
- Lance: Defeat an officer wielding this weapon on the opposing side during the Battle of Xu Province (Chapter 2). Your alliance (Cao Cao or Liu Bei) determines which officer to defeat.
- Crescent Blade: Unlocked in Chapter 3 after aligning with a specific faction. The exact mission varies depending on your choices.
The final weapon, the halberd, requires defeating Lu Bu at the Battle of Hulao Gate after completing the main campaign. This challenging battle rewards you with arguably the game's best weapon.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
