Embarking on your Avowed journey through the Living Lands requires gathering various resources for weapon and armor upgrades. Among these, the four types of Adra stand out as exceptionally rare and valuable. This guide details how to acquire all four.
Adra Types and Locations
Avowed features four Adra types: Base Adra, Awakened Adra, Corrupted Adra, and Adra Bán. Each possesses varying rarity and value, directly impacting the quality of your upgrades. Legendary-quality upgrades, for instance, demand Adra Bán. Higher-quality Adra is found in more challenging game areas, reflecting the increased enemy strength you'll encounter. While lower-tier Adra can be crafted into higher tiers at a Party Camp, this is less efficient than directly finding the higher-tier Adra in their respective zones. Here's where each Adra type begins to appear:
- Base Adra: Dawnshore
- Awakened Adra: Emerald Stair Region
- Corrupted Adra: Shatterscarp Region
- Adra Bán: Galawain’s Tusks and the final, unnamed game area.
Acquiring Adra: Multiple Avenues

The Adra type you encounter scales with your location within the game's four main regions. Significant story events, such as boss battles (like defeating Ygwulf in Dawnshore), often reward Adra. Similarly, defeating mini-bosses in the late game yields Adra Bán.
Beyond major story encounters, several methods exist for obtaining Adra:
- Merchants: Many merchants in major settlements (like Paradis in Dawnshore or Thirdborn in Shatterscarp) sell limited Adra.
- Loot: Defeating named enemies (bosses and mini-bosses) and exploring lockboxes (requiring lockpicks) often yields Adra.
- Crafting: Disassembling unique weapons and armor provides Adra, the amount scaling with the item's quality. Lower-tier Adra can be upgraded at a Party Camp.
- Strangled Adra: These large Adra pillars are scattered throughout the Living Lands. Solving associated puzzles unlocks the Adra within.
This comprehensive guide covers all methods for obtaining the four Adra types in Avowed.
