If you’re reading this, you’ve probably also told yourself this would be the month you don’t buy more Pokémon cards. Same. And yet here we are, staring down another lineup of Elite Trainer Boxes and tins like they’re life choices we already regret but will definitely make again.

Pokémon TCG: Azure Legends Tin - 5 Packs
### Pokémon TCG: Azure Legends Tin - 5 Packs
0Contains 2 x Surging Spark Boosters$29.99 at AmazonThis tin is surprisingly solid. You get five booster packs from a fantastic mix of sets — Surging Sparks, Stellar Crown, Temporal Forces, and Obsidian Flames — plus a promo card featuring either Kyogre, Dialga, or Xerneas. It’s like Pokémon’s take on a loot box, and yes, I bought two. With chase cards across the included sets (Pikachu ex, Terapagos, Raging Bolt, to name a few), your chances of pulling something exciting are actually pretty good. I'm not usually a fan of tins, but I’d definitely pick up another one.

### Pokémon TCG: Stacking Tin (Q1 2025) - 3 Packs, Stickers (Random Design)
0Contains 1 x Surging Sparks Booster$19.99 at AmazonI didn’t expect much from this tin. I bought it mainly for the sticker sheets and the promise of a Surging Sparks pack. And it delivered. You get three packs, one of which might contain gems like Pikachu ex or Latias ex, and a tin that I now use to store... well, nothing. But I can’t complain. There’s a slim chance you’ll pull a Milotic ex or Ceruledge ex if luck is on your side, and if not? You paid twenty bucks to take a chance and got some handy storage in return. That’s more than I can say for half the cereal I’ve bought this year.

### Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet: Paradox Rift: Elite Trainer Box - Roaring Moon
0$56.77 at AmazonI grabbed this box initially for the sleeves, but I stayed because Roaring Moon ex is the epitome of a Pokémon that doesn’t play by the rules. If your strategy involves ending games swiftly and stylishly, this is the card for you. While Paradox Rift might not have as many chase cards, the ones it does have—like Iron Valiant ex and Groudon—are stunning and feel like timeless works of art.

### Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet: Temporal Forces: Elite Trainer Box: Walking Wake
0$53.64 at AmazonThe Walking Wake Elite Trainer Box comes with a full-art Flutter Mane and nine more Temporal Forces packs, giving you another shot at some of the best art from the Scarlet & Violet era. This version leans into the ancient theme, and I picked it up mainly to boost my chances of pulling Walking Wake ex. Is it competitively viable? That's up for debate. But its design, with vibrant blues and prehistoric flair, feels like it stepped out of a vivid dream. Plus, the sleeves are sleek, and I like to pretend I care about those.

### Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet: Temporal Forces: Elite Trainer Box: Iron Leaves
0$55.24 at AmazonIron Leaves ex manages to be both competitively strong and visually striking. It looks like it's leaping straight out of a sci-fi anime, which is exactly the kind of energy I want from my pulls. Other heavy hitters like Iron Crown ex and Gouging Fire ex either pack a punch or look like they're about to. Raging Bolt ex, however, steals the show with its loud, dramatic design, perfectly balancing between "meta staple" and "thunder god cosplayer."

### Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet Shrouded Fable Elite Trainer Box
0$57.98 at AmazonShrouded Fable quietly introduces cards like Houndoom, with artwork so captivating it commands reverence, and Persian, whose design suggests it's plotting something cinematic. The promos and sleeves are nice, but I was really after this box for the Illustration Rares that not only look stunning but also weave a narrative. For instance, Fezandipiti ex is a versatile support attacker, and Cassiopeia is pure character drama in a foil rectangle. The art direction in this set is almost pretentious, and I mean that in the best way possible.
