Annapurna Interactive's mass resignation leaves some projects unaffected. Control 2 and Wanderstop are among the games seemingly continuing development.
Key Games Unaffected by Annapurna's Resignation
Following the mass resignation at Annapurna Interactive, uncertainty surrounded many projects. However, several developers have confirmed their games are proceeding as planned.
Remedy Entertainment, developers of Control 2, stated their deal is with Annapurna Pictures, and self-publishing Control 2 ensures continued development. Davey Wreden (The Stanley Parable) and Team Ivy Road similarly confirmed Wanderstop remains on track. Lushfoil Photography Sim, nearing completion, is also expected to be unaffected, though the team acknowledged the loss of working with Annapurna Interactive. Beethoven & Dinosaur reassured fans that Mixtape continues development.
Projects Facing Uncertainty
Conversely, the status of several other titles remains unclear. No Code's Silent Hill: Downfall, Furcula's Morsels, Great Ape Games' The Lost Wild, Dinogod's Bounty Star, and Annapurna Interactive's internally developed Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth are all awaiting further updates from their respective developers.
Annapurna's Response and Future
Annapurna Pictures CEO Megan Ellison affirmed their commitment to supporting developers during this transition. The mass resignation, involving the entire 25-person team, stemmed from disagreements over the studio's future. Despite the upheaval, Ellison reiterated Annapurna Pictures' dedication to interactive entertainment.
While some projects appear secure, the future of others remains uncertain in the wake of Annapurna Interactive's collapse. Further updates are anticipated as the situation unfolds.
