Ubisoft has revealed its post-launch roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows during its first year, committing to features like New Game Plus, expanded difficulty options, narrative expansions, and other enhancements.
The developer shared its 2025 plans through a concise roadmap video released today. While brief, the four-and-a-half-minute update provides clear timelines for May and June as Ubisoft prepares a steady rollout of free content updates aimed at keeping players engaged.

The update schedule kicks off in early May with "The Works of Luis Frois," the first free narrative expansion, alongside a Codex update and quality-of-life improvements. Next month will also introduce meaningful parkour enhancements and photo mode refinements—adjustments Ubisoft emphasizes stem from player feedback.
"Community input has been central to our development process, and that commitment continues post-launch," explained community developer Daniel St. Germain in the video. "We're delivering regular title updates featuring impactful additions and refinements based on your requests, alongside ongoing platform optimizations."
June will bring another story update alongside advanced difficulty presets, immersion toggles, an open-world alert system, and headgear visibility controls for cutscenes. While these address immediate player requests, Ubisoft confirms more substantial additions—including New Game Plus, extended story content, and special crossovers—are planned before year's end.
The roadmap's centerpiece is the premium expansion "Claws of Awaji," scheduled for later this year. This DLC promises new gameplay elements including the Bo staff weapon, fresh regions to explore, and approximately ten hours of additional content. Pricing remains unannounced, though pre-order customers will receive it at no additional cost.
Originally launched March 20 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, Assassin's Creed Shadows marks the franchise's long-awaited arrival in Feudal Japan. The title secured both critical acclaim—earning a spot among 2025's standout releases—and commercial success as last month's top-selling game.
