Atakhan, the new neutral objective in League of Legends, joins the ranks of Epic Monsters like Baron Nashor and the Elemental Dragons. Dubbed the 'Bringer of Ruin,' Atakhan makes his debut during the Noxus Invasion for Season 1 of 2025. What sets Atakhan apart is his unique spawn location and form, which are determined by the in-game actions of the players, adding a fresh layer of strategy to every match.
These dynamics ensure that each game remains distinct, compelling teams to adapt their strategies based on Atakhan's influence and the overall flow of the match.
When & Where Will Atakhan Spawn In League Of Legends?
### Atakhan's Spawn Time
Atakhan consistently spawns at the 20-minute mark, which has shifted Baron's spawn time to the 25-minute mark.
Atakhan's Pit Location
Atakhan's Pit, where players battle him, appears in the river at the 14-minute mark. Its location—either near the Top Lane or Bot Lane—depends on which side of the map has experienced more damage and kills. This gives teams a 6-minute window to strategize and prepare for the encounter. The pit features two small permanent walls that intensify the skirmishes over Atakhan.
Which Form Of Atakhan Will Spawn & Why?
The form Atakhan takes is also influenced by in-game action. In games with less champion damage and fewer kills, the Voracious Atakhan will emerge. Conversely, in high-action games with ample damage and kills within the first 14 minutes, the Ruinous Atakhan will appear on the Rift.
The primary distinction between these forms lies in the buffs they provide to the team that defeats them.
Voracious Atakhan's Buff In League Of Legends
Voracious Atakhan, appearing in less intense matches, offers buffs that encourage the slaying team to engage in combat.
- Each team member earns an additional 40 gold for every champion takedown, including assists, for the remainder of the game.
- Team members also gain a one-time death mitigation lasting 150 seconds. Upon taking fatal damage, they enter stasis for 2 seconds before returning to base after an additional 3.5 seconds. The would-be killer receives 100 gold and 1 Blood Petal for their team.
Ruinous Atakhan's Buff In League Of Legends
Ruinous Atakhan, spawning in more action-packed games, grants the victorious team a buff that scales with the game's progression.
- The team benefits from a 25% increase in rewards from all Epic Monsters for the rest of the game, including retroactively applied to previously taken objectives.
- Each team member receives 6 Blood Petals.
- Post-slay, 6 Large and 6 small Blood Rose Plants sprout around his pit, allowing the team to decide who destroys them for additional stats.
What Are Blood Roses & Petals In League Of Legends
Blood Roses, the latest addition to the Rift, typically appear near where champions fall and around Atakhan's Pit, especially after Ruinous Atakhan is defeated.
By attacking these plants, champions can collect permanent Blood Petals, a stacking buff that offers the following benefits:
- 25 XP, which can increase by up to 100% for players with a lower K/D/A ratio.
- 1 Adaptive Force, which adjusts to either Attack Damage (AD) or Ability Power (AP) based on the champion's stats.
There are two sizes of Blood Roses:
- Small Blood Roses yield 1 Blood Petal.
- Large Blood Roses provide 3 Blood Petals.
