Attention, all The Sims enthusiasts! Brace yourselves because the infamous Burglar is making a grand return in the latest update for The Sims 4. Rolling out to both PC and console players, this update reintroduces the notorious Robin Banks, signaling it's time to safeguard your virtual valuables. She typically strikes under the cover of night, targeting homes when everyone is asleep, but don't let your guard down—Robin has been known to pull off daring heists even when Sims are awake.
To protect your Sims from this cunning thief, consider installing a burglar alarm. If Robin triggers it, the police are quick to respond, ensuring her arrest and the safe recovery of your stolen items. Even if your home isn't equipped with an alarm, you can still call the police, but you'll need to act fast. Alternatively, if you prefer a more hands-on approach, you can opt for vigilante justice—it's entirely up to you.
While burglar events are designed to be relatively rare, if you thrive on chaos, you can increase your chances by activating the Lot Challenge Heist Havoc.
"We are so thrilled to finally bring the Burglar back into The Sims universe," The Sims' team expressed. "Sending a special shout out to our full team for making this a reality. Robin Banks isn’t just ready to rob your Sims’ houses — she’s here to steal your hearts too! What better way to celebrate The Sims 25th Birthday than with this nostalgic yet fresh addition? We hope you’re as excited as we are to see what kind of chaos Robin Banks will bring to your households."
Even though The Sims 4 is celebrating its 10th anniversary and the entire series marks its 25th year, it's still going strong. Last year, it attracted over 15 million new players. According to EA's Q2 earnings report from late last year, The Sims 4, once a premium game, reached 20 million unique players within four years. The game's shift to free-to-play in 2022 resulted in an astonishing 31 million new players right out of the gate, reaching a total of 85 million players as of May 2024. And, just to clarify, there are currently no plans for The Sims 5 at this time… Plum!
