Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone's Season 4 Reloaded update dropped today, packing in new game modes, weaponry, and a wealth of additional content. The update, eagerly anticipated by fans, particularly features the highly-requested Zombie mode additions to Modern Warfare 3.
Recent weeks have been action-packed for Call of Duty enthusiasts. Following the Season 4 update earlier this month, the next installment in the franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, was fully unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase. While players await Black Ops 6, Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward have unleashed significant changes to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.
Activision's blog post details the Season 4 Reloaded patch notes. Two new weapons—the Reclaimer 18 shotgun and the Sledgehammer melee weapon—join the arsenal, alongside JAK Volkh and JAK Gunslinger aftermarket parts. A new Mutation mode shakes things up, removing tactical and lethal equipment from ground loot, requiring players to collect DNA for perks. Modern Warfare 3 Zombies introduces Unstable Rifts, a wave-based combat challenge rewarding players with insured weapon and schematic cooldown resets.
This patch significantly alters the Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone meta. The Kar98k, recently added and a top sniper rifle, receives nerfs to damage range and bullet velocity. Controller aim assist adjustments have also been implemented.
Conversely, several previously dominant weapons receive buffs. Popular Warzone SMGs (FJX Horus, Striker, Rival-9) and rifles (MTZ 762, MCW, Holger 556, MTZ 556) all see improvements. The impact of these changes, combined with the new weapons, promises to reshape gameplay following this mid-season update.
