Capcom has cleverly hidden a tease for Resident Evil 9 right under our noses.
To celebrate reaching an impressive 10 million players, the Resident Evil 4 development team shared a fun video on social media on April 25. The video features Ada Wong whispering to a notorious villain, then shifts to Leon surrounded by infected enemies wearing party hats, casually making their way to a church.
The scene then transitions to a rock song, with Dr. Salvador amusingly playing his chainsaw like a guitar, while Leon energetically pumps his fist. In the background, a rustic sign reads "Thank you for playing."

However, if you turn the sign on its side, the planks form the Roman numeral "IX," which is 9. While this could be a mere coincidence, horror game insider Dusk Golem points out that the lower plank, crucial for forming the "IX," was not present in earlier parts of the video, suggesting it was deliberately added. Capcom has officially announced that the next mainline entry in the Resident Evil series, directed by Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi, is on its way."It was really challenging to decide what to do after [Resident Evil 7]," Nakanishi said at the time. "But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can't share any details yet, but I hope you're excited for the day I can." Although not confirmed, there's speculation that the game will be set on an island inspired by Singapore.
