Beware of Unauthorized Esquie Merchandise
While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 features many memorable characters, none capture hearts quite like Esquie - the beloved gentle giant who's essentially become the game's mascot. Developer Sandfall Interactive has issued warnings about fraudulent merchandise while teasing an official plush in development.
Counterfeit Alert
Sandfall Interactive recently addressed the issue through their official X/Twitter account:
"We've noticed suspicious websites selling unofficial Esquie plushies using AI-generated artwork. These are not licensed products and may be scams. We strongly advise against purchasing from these sources."
Official Plush Coming Soon
The studio confirms legitimate merchandise is in the works: "We're developing official Esquie plushies and aim to release them as quickly as possible. Please remain patient - and stay safe from scams!"
Why Everyone Loves Esquie
For those unfamiliar with Expedition 33, Esquie serves as both companion and transportation - a towering, friendly presence reminiscent of Big Hero 6's Baymax. Introduced in Act 1, this gentle giant quickly became a fan favorite.
Online searches reveal multiple scam sites capitalizing on Esquie's popularity, alongside genuine fan discussions seeking authentic merchandise. While official details remain scarce (including whether the plush will contain any wine references), Sandfall promises the real deal is coming.
Recent Updates
Sandfall recently released patch 1.2.3, adjusting balance for Maelle's Stendhal ability. The game earned presidential praise, with French President Emmanuel Macron calling its developers "a shining example of French creativity."
