How to Complete Canker in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest "Canker" becomes accessible early in the game, following the completion of "The Jaunt." This quest is a great opportunity to acquire a mace or some extra Groschen, and here's how to navigate it successfully.

Pick Up the Canker Side Quest

To initiate the "Canker" quest, you'll need to have a conversation with Gules at Semine. An ideal moment to pick up this quest is during the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes, where you can chat with Gules while he's indulging in some drinks. However, the quest is available even before the wedding if you find Gules patrolling in Semine. Just inquire about his past with the bandits and express your willingness to help him eradicate them. Canker, one of these former bandits, becomes your first target.

Find and Kill Canker

Upon accepting the quest, Canker’s location will appear on your map, north of Nebakov Mill. Be cautious, as the route to this location is often patrolled by bandits ready to ambush you. You can either sneak past them, engage in combat, or simply flee. Although these random bandits are typically not difficult to defeat, it's best to avoid unnecessary fights to conserve your health for the upcoming battle.

The bandit camp where Canker resides is hidden in the mountainous region, and it's easy to overlook. You'll need to navigate through a narrow gap to reach it, similar to accessing the Hermit’s house during the "Wedding Crashers" quest. Gear up for a fight before entering, as you'll face a group of bandits along with Canker.

The bandits may attempt to flee depending on the order in which you engage them, but you must eliminate most of them. Fortunately, Canker stays put, ensuring you can complete the quest by killing him.

Finish the Quest and Return to Gules

After defeating Canker and the bandits, loot Canker's body to obtain the Light Mace, which serves as proof of your success. Feel free to take any additional items you find. Once you've collected the mace, head back to Gules to wrap up the "Canker" quest.

After completing "Canker," you'll need to wait a full in-game day before you can proceed with the next quest related to Gules' former bandit associates. Once the day has passed, speak with Gules again to pick up "Handsome Charlie."
