In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, enhancing your character's strength can be achieved through various methods, one of which involves the use of Gems. These Gems provide passive buffs that can significantly boost your gameplay, especially on higher difficulty levels. You have the flexibility to craft new gems and level up existing ones, although the system may appear somewhat random. Let's delve into the specifics of crafting and utilizing gems, and explore strategies to increase your chances of obtaining the gems you desire.
How To Craft & Level Up Gems In Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Crafting gems in Dynasty Warriors: Origins requires Pyroxene, and can be done conveniently at any Inn or tent within the game. Upon entering your room, select the second option from the top labeled "Create Gems". Here, you can utilize your Pyroxene to craft gems at a straightforward one-to-one ratio. There are five distinct gems that you can craft, with each Pyroxene having an equal chance of producing any one of these gems.
Once you've crafted a base gem, it starts at level 1 and can be equipped through the Battle Preparations menu. Subsequent crafting of the same type of gem will contribute XP to the base gem, enhancing its level and potency with each increase. If you're not particularly focused on specific gems, it's beneficial to use all your Pyroxene at once to craft multiple gems, thereby upgrading them randomly across the board.
For those with a preference for certain gems, there's a feature called "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" that might activate when crafting a single gem. This feature limits the variety of gems that can be crafted with the Pyroxene used to three randomly selected types. You can opt out of this effect by exiting and re-entering the gem crafting menu. While crafting one gem at a time can be time-consuming, it's a strategy you might employ to increase your chances of activating Eyes of the Sacred Bird for the gem you're targeting.
The Eyes of the Sacred Bird feature helps mitigate the randomness of gem crafting, though it doesn't eliminate it entirely.
Here's a list of the five gems you can craft, along with their passive boosts:
Gem Name | Passive Boost |
---|---|
Oblivion Gem | Expands attack range. |
Vortex Gem | Boosts damage to enemies launched into the air. |
Scorch Gem | Boosts damage dealt to enemies with parries. |
Wellspring Gem | Restores health for every 100 enemies defeated. |
Ascendance Gem | Activates a chance to automatically block an attack from an enemy officer. |
Where To Get Pyroxene In Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Pyroxene can be found scattered throughout the overworld, appearing as distinctive orange crystals protruding from the ground. Interacting with these crystals will yield one Pyroxene and cause the crystal to vanish. After completing Skirmishes or Battles, Pyroxene in the overworld map will respawn, encouraging you to revisit and explore previously explored areas. This respawn mechanic ensures a steady supply of new Pyroxene. Additionally, you might occasionally receive Pyroxene from letters, which can be read in your room at an Inn or tent.
