Metro 2033: A Walkthrough for the "Cursed" Mission
Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, enjoying renewed popularity thanks to Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often confusing for players due to unclear objectives and the station's layout. This mission begins after witnessing an anomaly eliminate a nosalis horde, leading Artyom and Khan to Turgenevskaya station via railcar.
Locating the Bomb
After exiting the railcar and reaching the barricaded escalators, speak with the defenders. They'll explain a missing explosives crew tasked with collapsing the tunnel to stop the nosalis onslaught. Your objective: find and detonate the bomb. Expect constant nosalis attacks; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed. The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows directly ahead – they'll damage Artyom. Once you have the bomb, either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if necessary.
Destroying the Tunnel
With the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective). A cutscene will automatically trigger, showing Artyom planting and lighting the fuse. Escape immediately; the blast is lethal at close range. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb in the same area will also collapse the tunnel. Note: nosalises may still enter through other paths.
Destroying the Airlock
The defenders mentioned an airlock. To find it, ascend the stairs to the right of the main platform (glowing torchlight area). Ignore the nosalises. Interact with the support columns to place and detonate a pipe bomb, then evacuate quickly. With both tunnel entrances destroyed, proceed with Khan to a shrine room, then through a floor panel to begin the "Armory" mission.
