Welcome the Revenants in Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2's Update Patch 6 introduces the eagerly awaited New Game Plus (NG+) mode, allowing players to replay the entire game at an elevated difficulty level while retaining their inventory. This mode lets you continue playing with your leveled-up character, offering three additional skill slots, an increased level cap, new weapons and skins, and, most importantly, new enemies.
The update also introduces a new zombie type known as the Revenants. These are enhanced versions of the Apex zombies, boasting new behaviors and tweaked capabilities designed to make them exceptionally challenging to defeat. The developers emphasized that the combination of New Game Plus and the Revenants will significantly ramp up the game's difficulty, promising an intense experience for those seeking a tougher challenge.
To complement the increased difficulty in NG+, all weapons introduced in this mode are more powerful than those in the base game, with a variety of fixed-rarity weapons available for players to collect and use. Additionally, the update introduces the Neighbourhood Watch horde mode, a unique blend of horde mode and tower defense where players defend their home base over a five-day period. During these runs, players will face hordes of enemies while completing objectives to acquire essential gear.
