NieR: Automata's resource scarcity varies greatly. While some materials are plentiful, upgrading numerous weapons demands significant quantities. Dented Plates, a frequently needed component, are readily farmable despite their seeming commonality.
Efficient Dented Plate Farming Locations in NieR: Automata
Dented Plates are commonly dropped by:
- Small Bipeds (all variants)
- Small Flyers (all variants)
- Small Spheres (all variants)
These basic enemies are ubiquitous throughout the game. However, relying solely on respawning enemies via fast travel isn't the most efficient strategy.
The optimal farming location is the arena where you first encounter Adam.
Fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point. Proceed deeper into the ruins and descend to the pit. Here, machines continuously respawn, with Small Bipeds being the most prevalent. Their level may be lower depending on your game progress, but their Dented Plate drop rate remains respectable. This location also yields Titanium Alloy.
Alternatively, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups usually drop at least one Dented Plate. Exploring the forest also provides opportunities to gather Beast Hide. Higher-level Bipeds boast increased Dented Plate drop rates, making story progression beneficial for both enemy encounters and higher-level drops.
Equipping drop-rate boosting plug-in chips further enhances yields; however, remember that death results in permanent chip loss.
