Wolcen Studio has exciting news for gamers with the announcement of Project Pantheon, a free-to-play combat role-playing game that integrates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha testing phase is set to kick off on January 25 for players in Europe, with North American players joining the fray on February 1.
"We've combined the intense tension and rewarding risk of an extraction shooter with the dynamic combat of role-playing games," explained game director Andrei Cirkulete. Drawing inspiration from games like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, Project Pantheon aims to offer a unique gaming experience. "We are eager to gather feedback from our players," Cirkulete added. In this post-apocalyptic setting, players will step into the shoes of a messenger of Death, tasked with restoring order to a shattered world.
As you navigate through the game's maps, you'll face off against AI opponents and other players. The stakes are high: successfully evacuate, and you'll secure your trophies; fail, and you'll lose all your loot. Project Pantheon also allows players to build their own bases, customize their gear, and experiment with various playstyles. The game's world draws from global mythologies, and player trading is at the heart of its economy.
Your initial adventures will unfold in "Destiny's Edge," a setting inspired by Scandinavian legends. Even though the game is in its early alpha stage, Wolcen Studio is committed to actively involving the community to refine and enhance Project Pantheon.
