GungHo Entertainment, the creators of the crossover card battler Teppen, are venturing into a new realm with their latest project: a retro-style RPG in collaboration with Disney. Prepare for Disney Pixel RPG, a game featuring a massive roster of pixel art Disney characters.
This upcoming title, set for release later this year, promises a unique blend of action, battle, and rhythm-based challenges across multiple worlds inspired by the vast Disney universe. Players will assemble a team of iconic Disney characters, battling alongside their own customizable avatars. The gameplay appears to be primarily auto-battler, but with options for direct control at key moments. The narrative centers on confronting mysterious programs that have infiltrated the pixelated Disney worlds.
A Retro Revival
This isn't GungHo's first foray into large-franchise crossovers. However, given Disney's extensive library, this collaboration offers an unparalleled pool of characters. And if any developer is equipped to manage such a diverse cast, it's GungHo.
