BioWare has largely shifted its focus away from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, yet the dedicated team that remains is still adding exciting new content to the game. Dragon Age fans were pleasantly surprised when the RPG's Steam page was updated to announce a free DLC weapons pack, named the Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer. This unexpected addition comes as a welcome surprise, especially after EA had hinted that Dragon Age: The Veilguard would not receive much further support. The fifth patch, released in January, had focused primarily on addressing game-breaking bugs, making the inclusion of new content feel like a small miracle.
The Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer is exclusively available to current owners of the game and those who purchase it on PC before April 8, 2025. While the exact contents of the bundle remain undisclosed, the community has discovered that it includes a set of Watchful skins accessible in the Rook's in-game room. It's uncertain whether this offer will extend to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S versions of the game.
Despite the modest nature of these cosmetic additions, they have been warmly received by the community. As one Steam review humorously noted, "Even if these appearances aren't the most, uh, beautiful things ever, they do give spooky eldritch horror vibes!" Echoing this sentiment, a Redditor commented, "It's cosmetic DLC, but it's essentially free DLC for a game that's practically no longer getting newer content. I'll live with that."

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launched to positive reviews from critics in October but, according to EA, did not capture a broad enough audience. In late January, lead members of its team announced they would be leaving BioWare as a significant portion of the staff was either laid off or reassigned within the company. EA told IGN at the time that BioWare was now fully focused on the next Mass Effect.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard became part of the PlayStation Plus March 2025 titles just four months after its launch. No further plans for the game's future have been disclosed.
