Dragon Quest XII is steadily progressing through development, with creator Yuji Horii confirming its continued production. In a recent livestream with KosoKoso Hōsō Kyoku, as reported by Automaton, Horii stated that the Square Enix team is diligently working on the title, releasing information "little by little."
This update follows a May 2024 announcement acknowledging the passing of key figures Akira Toriyama and Koichi Sugiyama, and the departure of producer Yu Miyake. Prior to this, concerns arose regarding the game's status amidst Square Enix restructuring and a lack of updates. However, Horii's comments directly address these concerns, assuring fans that Dragon Quest XII remains in active development.
