Old Coins are unusable in Chapter 1; focus on the main story. After completing the main story battles "Suppression of You Province," "Suppression of Jing Province," and "Suppression of Liang Province" in Chapter 2, return to Ji. You'll meet Sima Hui. After the conversation and obtaining incense for the Innkeeper, the Shui Jing Retreat will appear near Ji. Here, you can exchange Old Coins with Sima Hui. You can also check bonds and rewatch interactions. Rewards are tied to specific Old Coin milestones; exchange them whenever possible.

With 500 Old Coins to find, avoid early farming. More methods unlock as you progress. These include:
- Overworld exploration.
- Companion and officer Bond Interactions.
- Inn letters after story events.
- Regional Peace rewards at Waypoints.
Overworld Old Coin icons are small and only appear nearby. The rewards vary in usefulness; focus on gameplay, and the coins will accumulate naturally.
