EA Sports UFC 5 receives a significant update on January 9th, launching at 1 PM ET for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This patch (1.18) introduces undefeated fighter Azamat Murzakanov and addresses several bugs.
EA Vancouver, the game's developer, continues to enhance UFC 5, adding content in response to initial player feedback regarding the roster. This update brings the game closer to parity with current UFC top ten rankings.
The January 9th update features:
- Azamat Murzakanov: A new Light Heavyweight fighter with impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking).
- Three New Alter Egos: The identities of these additional fighters remain undisclosed.
- Gameplay Adjustment: The stamina cost of the muscle modifier has been lowered from x3.125 to 2.5.
- Bug Fixes: Corrections include fixing incorrect translations in multiple languages, resolving a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang issue (match result display), and updating portraits for Stipe and Jones to reflect recent glove updates.
- Store Improvements: The in-game store now allows sorting offers by release series (Pride, Prime, Champion, etc.).
- New Vanity Rewards: A selection of new cosmetic items has been added.
This update arrives shortly before EA Sports UFC 5 becomes available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play on January 14th. While other titles are added to the standard tier, UFC 5 will be exclusive to the Ultimate tier.
