Scammers and Scalpers Already On The Move
Beware of ongoing scams related to the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. Reports indicate that some players are receiving fraudulent invites on Steam, which redirect to suspicious pages that can hack your account and spam your friends with the same invite. FromSoftware has clarified that all legitimate registration and confirmation for the playtest is conducted only through their official website and social media accounts. Any links outside these channels are likely unauthorized and potentially malicious.
Additionally, scalpers are already taking advantage of the situation. Shortly after FromSoftware announced the dispatch of confirmation emails, listings for "confirmed test codes" appeared on various online buy-and-sell sites. Despite the codes not being available until February 11, these listings are demanding exorbitant prices, ranging from $150 to $200, with some even being auctioned off.
Elden Ring Nightreign was first unveiled during the Game Awards 2024, set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. FromSoftware has indicated a 2025 release window, but no exact date has been announced yet.
