A Daily Grind: No Hits, New Weapons
Rather than passively awaiting Nightreign's launch, chickensandwich420 devised a unique challenge: defeating Messmer each day on NG+7, employing a different weapon each time and achieving a flawless, no-hit victory. This demanding task began on December 16, 2024. His initial plan involved various FromSoftware bosses, but his university studies limited his time.
Messmer, the formidable antagonist from Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, is notorious for his difficulty. Players report needing 30 to over 150 attempts to defeat him, even with optimal gear. chickensandwich420's challenge is undeniably a significant undertaking.
A June deadline is in place. Should Nightreign not launch by then, the challenge will expand to other games. This sets a potential limit of over 160 Messmer battles. At the time of writing, he's reached day 23.
Elden Ring: Nightreign, a standalone three-player co-op adventure set within the Elden Ring universe, is anticipated for a 2025 release.
