Nearly three decades after its initial cinematic release, Paul W.S. Anderson's cult classic, *Event Horizon*, is set to expand its universe with a gripping prequel. IDW Publishing has announced *Event Horizon: Dark Descent*, a compelling five-issue comic book series that delves into the harrowing events preceding the film. This series promises to uncover the chilling fate of the original crew aboard the Event Horizon ship.
Penned by acclaimed writer Christian Ward, known for his work on *Batman: City of Madness*, and illustrated by Tristan Jones, renowned for *Aliens: Defiance*, *Dark Descent* will feature vibrant colors by Pip Martin of *That Texas Blood* fame. The cover art for the series will be brought to life by a talented lineup including Ward, Jeffrey Alan Love, Martin Simmonds, and Joshua Hixson.

Christian Ward expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "It's a huge privilege to be handed the keys of such a beloved film, one I take very seriously and I have some extremely exciting things up my sleeve. He further added, "I think what Christian's laying out and adding to the lore is going to surprise people.
