Fabled Game Studio's highly anticipated sequel, Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, is set to launch in 2025 on Android, iOS, Steam, and Epic Games Store. Building upon the success of the 2019 original, this roguelike deck-builder promises enhanced features and a fresh adventure.
An open beta test is currently underway on Steam (October 25th-31st), with mobile platforms to follow. Before you embark on this nautical journey, let's explore what's new.
What Awaits in Pirates Outlaws 2?
Pirates Outlaws 2 introduces a new protagonist with a backstory set years after the first game. This hero begins with pre-built decks and unique abilities. But the enhancements don't stop there:
- Companions: Introduce unique cards to your deck.
- Card Fusion: Combine three identical cards to create more powerful ones.
- Evolution Tree: Customize your deck's progression through an upgrade system. Previously discarded cards now have upgrade potential.
- Relic System Overhaul: Instead of finding relics after every battle, they're now located in markets, post-boss battles, and special events.
- New Battle Mechanics: A countdown system impacts enemy actions, and the "End Turn" button is replaced with a "Redraw" mechanic. A revamped armor and shield system is also included.
