Efficiently Farming Sharp Fangs in Monster Hunter Wilds
Sharp Fangs are a valuable crafting resource in Monster Hunter Wilds, useful for creating early-game gear like Chatacabra and Talioth armor. This guide details how to locate and farm these fangs effectively.
Early access to Sharp Fangs is available in the Windward Plains, accessible through optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests offer a generous 50-minute time limit. Consider consuming a meal for a boost before embarking.
Focus on Area 8 of the Windward Plains, a large area teeming with smaller monsters. While multiple creatures can drop Sharp Fangs, Gaijos are the most reliable source.
Targeting Gaijos
Gaijos, crocodile-like leviathans, are frequently found near or in riverbeds. Their locations are indicated by purple diamonds on the map's interactive view. They possess low health, making them easy targets even with early-game weapons. Each defeated Gaijo guarantees a single Sharp Fang upon carving.
The Windward Plains typically spawns four to five Gaijos. Repeatedly completing optional quests provides a convenient method for farming additional Sharp Fangs.
Talioths: An Alternative Source
Talioths, bipedal creatures found in packs in Areas 8 and 13, offer a chance (though not guaranteed) of dropping Sharp Fangs. While slightly tougher than Gaijos, they pose minimal threat even with starting weapons. Hunting Talioths also conveniently progresses the "The Desert is Demanding" quest.
