Final Fantasy XIV Offers Free Login Campaign Through February 6th
Square Enix has reinstated its popular Free Login Campaign for Final Fantasy XIV, giving players with inactive accounts a chance to return to Eorzea for free until February 6th. Eligible players can enjoy four consecutive days of gameplay. The 96-hour play period begins the moment a player logs into the game launcher.
This free access period coincides nicely with the recent release of Patch 7.15, adding new side quests to the Dawntrail expansion, including the return of the Hildibrand adventures and a fresh Custom Delivery client. The campaign also follows Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida's New Year's message, confirming the upcoming release of Patches 7.2 and 7.3 in 2025, alongside smaller content updates. Yoshida also teased future directions for the Dawntrail main storyline, sparking much speculation amongst the player base.
The Free Login Campaign, available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, started January 9th, 3:00 AM Eastern Time, and ends February 6th, 9:59 AM Eastern Time. Eligibility requires a purchased and registered Final Fantasy XIV account that has been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign start. Players with suspended or canceled accounts due to Terms of Service violations are not eligible. Square Enix encourages players to verify their eligibility through the Mog Station.
While enjoying this free access, players can participate in the ongoing Heavensturn event (until January 16th), earning a special minion reward. The upcoming Patch 7.16 (January 21st) will conclude the Dawntrail Role Quest side story. This free period provides a perfect opportunity for lapsed players to catch up on the Dawntrail storyline before the release of Patch 7.2. The future of Dawntrail in 2025 remains shrouded in mystery, awaiting Square Enix's further announcements.
