If you're a fan of both Konami and FIFA, brace yourself for an unexpected crossover! The longstanding debate between FIFA and PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) is taking an exciting turn as FIFA collaborates with Konami’s eFootball for the FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024.
The journey begins with in-game qualifiers already live within eFootball. This year’s tournament spans two platforms: Console (PS4 and PS5) and Mobile. Eighteen countries are set to compete in the final rounds, including Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand and Turkey.
Qualifiers run from October 10th to 20th, followed by the National Nomination Phases from October 28th to November 3rd. The grand finale will take place offline at the end of 2024, though the exact date remains undisclosed. Even if you’re not from one of the participating countries, you can still join the qualifiers until Round 3 and receive rewards such as 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and more.

This collaboration marks a twist in the gaming world, given the historic rivalry between Konami and EA Sports. Back in 2022, EA and FIFA parted ways after a decade-long partnership due to a disagreement over licensing fees. While EA released FIFA 24 under the new name EA Sports FC 24, FIFA has now partnered with Konami for its upcoming virtual tournament.
For those eager to jump in, head to the Google Play Store to download eFootball. As a bonus, you can currently participate in a special event featuring a custom-designed Bruno Fernandes and enjoy an 8x match experience multiplier to build your Dream Team faster.
