Charlie Cox's successful transition from Netflix to the MCU as Daredevil has sparked speculation about potential comebacks for other members of The Defenders. Finn Jones, who portrayed Iron Fist, recently expressed his eagerness to return to the role, stating, "I'm here and I'm ready." Jones last played Danny Rand in Season 2 of the Netflix series Iron Fist and in The Defenders, where he teamed up with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).
Despite mixed reviews of Jones' portrayal of Iron Fist, which didn't resonate as well with fans as the other Defenders, Daredevil's integration into the MCU has reignited hope for the revival of the entire team. Reports suggest Marvel is "exploring" the possibility of bringing back The Defenders.
At the LaConve anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones addressed the criticism he received, saying, "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen. There's a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I'm very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f***ing chance, man. I'm here and I'm ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."
Daredevil: Born Again continues the story from the Netflix series, which was part of a smaller-scale Marvel universe that included shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. These shows, and the overarching Defenders narrative, are now officially part of the MCU canon, available on Disney+. Jon Bernthal's Punisher, another character from the Netflix series, also appears in Daredevil: Born Again.
