Forspoken Free on PS Plus But Unwanted

Forspoken, despite its free PS Plus offering, continues to spark heated debate among players nearly a year post-release. While some PS Plus subscribers are praising the game, others are echoing the criticisms levied at its original launch.

The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium additions, including Forspoken and Sonic Frontiers, generated surprisingly positive initial feedback. However, this enthusiasm quickly waned for some Forspoken players. Many abandoned the game after just a few hours, citing poor writing and unengaging dialogue. Although some players appreciated the combat, parkour, and exploration, the general consensus points to the storyline and dialogue as major detractors, rendering the experience unpleasant for those who focus on narrative.

It seems the PS Plus release hasn't revitalized Forspoken's reception. The game's inherent inconsistencies remain a significant hurdle. Forspoken follows Frey, a New Yorker transported to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Athia. Armed with newfound magical abilities, Frey must navigate this vast world, battling monstrous creatures and powerful matriarchs known as the Tants, all in a desperate bid to return home.
