Game of Thrones: Kingsroad – Closed Beta Incoming!
Netmarble's highly anticipated Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, adapted from George R.R. Martin's novels and the HBO series, is launching a closed beta on Android and PC. Starting January 15th and running until the 22nd, the beta will be available in the US, Canada, and select European regions. Sign-ups are open now!
Unlike previous Game of Thrones mobile games that focused on strategy, Kingsroad offers a third-person action-adventure experience. Players assume the role of an heir to House Tyrell, embarking on a journey across Westeros, engaging in combat, and building prestige.
The game's trailer showcases a Witcher-esque style, featuring third-person exploration and combat. Players can choose from three distinct classes: Sellsword, Knight, and Assassin. While visually impressive, the true test lies in gameplay.
Winter is Coming (Again!)
Registration for the closed beta closes on January 12th. While the game looks promising, it's sure to face intense scrutiny from the dedicated Game of Thrones fanbase. Monetization strategies and long-term support will be key factors in its success. However, if Netmarble delivers a compelling experience, it could satisfy the long-standing desires of Game of Thrones enthusiasts.
