Big news for Netflix subscribers playing Grand Theft Auto on Android! Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City are leaving the Netflix Games catalog next month.
This isn't a surprise; Netflix licenses games similarly to films and shows. The licenses for these two GTA titles expire on December 13th. Netflix will clearly label these games as "Leaving Soon."
These games joined Netflix Games a year ago, reflecting a 12-month licensing agreement with Rockstar Games. After December 13th, they'll be unavailable to Netflix subscribers.
If you're currently playing either game, it's time to finish up! However, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remains available.
Where to Play Next?
To continue your GTA adventures, you can purchase the Definitive Editions of Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City on the Google Play Store. Each game costs $4.99, or you can get the entire trilogy for $11.99.
Unlike previous removals, such as Samurai Shodown V and WrestleQuest, Netflix provided advance notice. This is somewhat ironic, considering the GTA trilogy significantly boosted Netflix Games subscriptions in 2023.
Rumors suggest Rockstar and Netflix are collaborating on remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and even Chinatown Wars. Let's hope this pans out!
