Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind Rockstar hits like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated new game, MindsEye. The game recently showcased a fresh look during the PlayStation State of Play event, stirring excitement among gaming enthusiasts.
A new trailer for MindsEye offers a glimpse into this high-tech spy thriller, drawing clear parallels to Grand Theft Auto with its third-person gunplay, cinematic quality, and dynamic drive-and-shoot action. You can immerse yourself in the experience by watching the cinematic trailer below.
According to the official press release, *MindsEye* centers on the protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This implant, however, has left his memory fragmented, haunting him with disjointed flashbacks of his military past. Driven by the need to uncover the truth, Jacob embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his journey.MindsEye has been in development for several years since Benzies left Rockstar Games and established his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy. In collaboration with Hitman developer IO Interactive, MindsEye is poised to be a AAA action-adventure game. Alongside MindsEye, Benzies is also launching the Everywhere platform, which we previously likened to a "Big budget Roblox" following a studio visit in 2024.
While the new trailer did not delve into Everywhere, MindsEye alone promises to be a thrilling addition to the action game genre, courtesy of one of its most influential figures. MindsEye is slated for release in the summer of 2025.
