Hearthstone's Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set: A Massive Expansion Arriving January 21st
The highly anticipated Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set for Hearthstone is set to launch on January 21st, boasting a record-breaking 49 new cards. This substantial expansion introduces class-specific and multi-class StarCraft faction cards, blending the universes of Hearthstone and StarCraft in an unprecedented crossover.
Initially teased during the Warcraft Direct in November 2024, the Mini-Set's details have finally been revealed. The 49 cards include three for each Hearthstone class, five faction-specific cards for each of the three StarCraft factions (Zerg, Protoss, Terran), each featuring a Legendary card, and a single neutral Legendary card, Grunty. The Zerg cards, playable by Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock, focus on summoning Zerglings and leveraging Hydralisks. Protoss cards, for Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue, emphasize mana manipulation to play high-cost cards like the Carrier. Finally, Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior players will find new Starship mechanics and cards, building upon the existing Starship system from The Great Dark Beyond expansion.
This expansive Mini-Set comes at a slightly higher price point. A complete set costs $20 or 2500 gold, while the all-Golden version is priced at $80 or 12,000 gold. However, players can purchase individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) for $10 or 1200 gold.
To celebrate the release, Hearthstone is hosting two streamed events:
- StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST): Featuring StarCraft legends TrumpSC and Day9 showcasing the new cards.
- HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST): Featuring Hearthstone community creators competing in faction-based matches and mini-games.
Viewers of these Twitch streams will receive two standard and two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs, providing additional opportunities to acquire cards from the new expansion. Don't miss out on this exciting crossover event!
