Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced significant leadership changes, effective April 1, 2025. Hideaki Nishino has been appointed as the sole CEO of SIE, succeeding the previous co-leadership structure. This follows the retirement of Jim Ryan last year, which led to a split leadership between Nishino and Hermen Hulst.
Simultaneously, Sony Corporation announced the promotion of Hiroki Totoki, currently CFO, to President and CEO of the entire company, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, will step up as the new CFO.
Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. He will now oversee all SIE operations and lead the platform business group. Hermen Hulst will continue his role as head of PlayStation Studios.
In a statement, Nishino expressed his honor at assuming the CEO position, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences to expand the PlayStation community and its intellectual property. He thanked Hulst for his continued leadership at PlayStation Studios.
