If you're passionate about Japanese music, you're likely familiar with HYDE, the legendary artist who has graced Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records worldwide. Now, HYDE takes center stage in a thrilling new endless runner game, "Hyde Run," which has just launched globally. Initially released in Japan, this game is now accessible to fans around the world, courtesy of developer and publisher Phoenixx. "Hyde Run" offers a unique way for global fans to immerse themselves in HYDE's illustrious music career through gameplay filled with nods to his journey.
Move, Jump, or Slide in Hyde Run
In "Hyde Run," you'll embody HYDE, navigating through a dynamic blend of a concert stage and futuristic Tokyo. Engage in a high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo, skillfully dodging obstacles, wall-running past billboards, and collecting musical notes along the way. The game stands out with its vibrant neon-and-noise aesthetic, infusing the energy of a guitar solo and fan-focused elements that set it apart from typical endless runners.
As you race through the city, grab various power-ups to enhance your run. Magnets can draw notes towards you, while barriers protect you from damage. Before embarking on each run, you can select items for a boost, such as Note Gain for collecting more notes or a Barrier to avoid tripping over obstacles.
Additionally, collect crystals to unlock exclusive HYDE outfits and room items that celebrate his career. Unlocking the Microphone Stand grants access to voice clips from HYDE himself, adding an authentic touch to your gaming experience.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
"Hyde Run" also allows you to customize HYDE’s room with memorabilia spanning 20 years, including tour gear and hidden items that unlock special messages and voice notes from HYDE. Until June 10th, 2025, enjoy a variety of limited-time content, such as the THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set, featuring HYDE's iconic look from the music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights.
For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set offers a summer-festival inspired look, complemented by a Japanese-style furniture set with bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime shaped like HYDE’s Edyh character.
