Hyper Light Breaker boasts a diverse arsenal of weapons, and crafting a truly effective build hinges on securing a solid weapon. While you begin with basic equipment, the game progressively unlocks opportunities to acquire weapons perfectly aligned with your preferred playstyle.
Blending roguelike and extraction game elements, Hyper Light Breaker offers a unique approach to weapon acquisition. Here's how to expand your arsenal:
Where to Find New Weapons in Hyper Light Breaker

The primary method for obtaining new gear is through exploration of Overgrowths. While exploring naturally yields new items, focusing on sword (Blades) or pistol (Rails) icons on the map significantly increases your chances of finding weapons.
Blades are melee weapons, each possessing distinct movesets and special abilities. Rails, on the other hand, are ranged weapons with diverse functionalities. Both weapon types come in varying rarities, with gold representing the most powerful and desirable finds. As expected, rarer weapons boast superior stats.
To save any discovered weapon for later use, press the Cache button instead of equipping it directly. This stores the weapon in your personal stash, allowing you to equip it before starting your next run by adjusting your loadout at the Outpost.
Acquiring New Starting Weapons

Beyond discovering weapons during runs, you can purchase new starting equipment from merchants located at the Cursed Outpost. Initially, only the Blades merchant is accessible. To unlock the Rails merchant, you must gather sufficient materials to repair their shop.
Merchants maintain a limited inventory, but their stock refreshes periodically. If you don't find anything appealing initially, check back later for new offerings.
Weapon Upgrades

Enhance your gear by upgrading it at the Outpost merchants. However, the upgrade feature must first be unlocked by increasing your affinity with the merchants. This requires Golden Rations, a rare resource obtainable through exploration or by resetting cycles. Use your Golden Rations wisely, as they are a precious commodity.
Remember, equipped weapons lose a pip of durability each time you die, eventually breaking after repeated failures.
