Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his work in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and countless other titles, has shared a moving message following a serious health scare. Last week, he was found "barely alive" in his Atlanta hotel room, where he was attending a benefit event for the National Alzheimer's Association.
A video posted on a GoFundMe page—which has already raised an astounding $174,653 to cover medical expenses and other bills—reveals Johnson was in a coma. "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you," he shared.
The incident unfolded after Johnson, also a Washington Capitals announcer, arrived in Atlanta. When he failed to appear at the event, his wife, Kim Johnson, contacted the hotel. Security personnel and EMTs responded, finding him with a barely perceptible pulse.

"Rumors of my demise, well, they weren't exaggerated. It was very close," Johnson admitted. "But I'm still here. I'm still here because my wife decided to call the hotel...and had my son call security, and find out I was nearly dead. They took me to the hospital, put me in a coma. I was in there for five days before I found out that my wonderful friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker and Kim had put together this GoFundMe..."
Johnson expressed deep gratitude to the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family, to Washington Capitals parent company chairman Ted Leonsis for his generous $25,000 donation, and to Glasser and Elliker for their tireless efforts. He also extended heartfelt thanks to Bethesda, who publicly showed their support, stating, "You say that I'm your friend. I am. Always will be. Love you guys." Finally, he addressed his fans, both donors and those offering support in other ways: "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere. It's going to be a while as I work my way back, but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and hearing you all then. Cheers."
Johnson's extensive voice acting career encompasses numerous film and television roles, but he's perhaps best known for his contributions to Bethesda games. His memorable roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, several Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
