Exciting new images, details, and a construction start window of Fall 2025 have been revealed for the much-anticipated Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris. According to the Disney Parks Blog, this first-ever land and attraction themed to The Lion King is set to become one of the major attractions in the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, now to be known as Disney Adventure World. The new water ride will immerse guests in the iconic scenes from the 1994 classic, complemented by a 120-foot-high Pride Rock and an array of dining, shopping, character meet-and-greets, and more.
Disney has shared a stunning concept image of the ride, featuring Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting. This scene is just one highlight of the ride, which will also include a thrilling 52-foot drop, surpassing Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches.
Although an exact opening date hasn't been set, the Lion King ride is scheduled to open after the grand debut of World of Frozen in 2026. It will be a key component of Disney Adventure World, which will expand the current park's footprint twofold.
In addition to World of Frozen and The Lion King ride, Disney Adventure World will feature the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, with Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another exciting addition is the first-ever attraction themed after Up, designed as a "spinning carousel" that offers breathtaking views of the park's scenic beauty.
The new park entrance, World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, aims to recreate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will host theaters showcasing productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
