Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a cancelled Resistance 4
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president Ted Price recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was unfortunately never approved. While he described the concept as "wonderful," he cited timing and market opportunity as the reasons for its cancellation.
Price expressed the team's passion for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera aliens.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, debuted on the PlayStation 3. Following the success of the series, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the popular Marvel's Spider-Man franchise and new Ratchet & Clank titles.
Price's retirement from Insomniac Games after 30 years was announced earlier this year. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as Co-Studio Heads to succeed him. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next project.
