Jack Quaid, known for his role in *The Boys*, has expressed a keen interest in starring in a potential BioShock movie. During a Reddit AMA held to promote his latest film, *Novocaine*, Quaid revealed that BioShock is one of his all-time favorite games. He praised the game's rich lore, suggesting it would be perfect for adaptation into a TV series or film. "I would actually love to be in a live-action adaptation of BioShock - one of my favorite games of all time," Quaid remarked. "I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
The prospect of a BioShock movie has been in discussion, with producer Roy Lee mentioning last July that changes in leadership led to a "reconfigured" approach for the adaptation. According to Lee, the film is now intended to be a more personal story due to budget cuts from Netflix. Details of the plot remain under wraps, but it's clear that the film's direction has shifted. Francis Lawrence, known for directing *The Hunger Games*, remains attached to helm the project. "The new regime has lowered the budgets," Lee stated. "So we’re doing a much smaller version. It’s going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."
Interestingly, Quaid's appearance in *Novocaine* has sparked comparisons to another video game character, Max Payne, whose likeness is based on Remedy writer Sam Lake. Fans have noted the striking resemblance, with some even mistaking *Novocaine* for a Max Payne movie. Quaid himself acknowledged the similarity, saying, "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take. I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately, I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."
Beyond BioShock, Quaid has a passion for challenging video games, particularly those developed by FromSoftware. He shared his enthusiasm for the studio's titles during the same Reddit AMA, noting his progression through *Bloodborne*, *Sekiro*, and now *Elden Ring*. "I'm a huge video game nerd," he confessed. "And lately, I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro, and now I'm going full boar into Elden Ring. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
