In her first interview with Business Insider, J.C. Lee - daughter of Marvel icon Stan Lee - has publicly refuted longstanding accusations of elder abuse against both her father and late mother Joan.
These allegations initially surfaced in 2017 after Joan Lee's passing, gaining traction through a 2018 Hollywood Reporter exposé. The piece painted J.C. Lee as financially coercive toward her aging parents, allegedly instigating explosive arguments with Stan Lee described as "powder-keg" confrontations. The report referenced photographed bruises on Joan Lee's arm and claims of verbal abuse - all disputed by J.C. Lee.
Breaking her silence, J.C. Lee tells Business Insider these accusations were completely fabricated: "It's all lies. That photo is outrageous. I would never do such things." She admits resisting earlier public denials on advisers' counsel, expressing lingering regret: "You think I haven't regretted staying quiet?"
While acknowledging frequent financial disputes escalated to shouting matches, J.C. Lee maintains: "I never laid hands on my parents - ever."
Stan Lee passed away from cardiac arrest in 2018 at age 95.
