Killer Instinct Gold joins the Nintendo Switch Online catalog as the service's latest Nintendo 64 addition.
This enhanced port of the arcade fighting game Killer Instinct 2 arrives alongside its predecessor in the growing collection of classic titles available to Expansion Pack subscribers.
Originally developed by Rare in 1996, Killer Instinct Gold features combat between 10 distinct warriors with hundreds of combo possibilities across multiple game modes. The British studio - renowned for Nintendo collaborations like Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye 007, and Perfect Dark - is now part of Microsoft's Xbox Game Studios, making this another Microsoft-owned title appearing on Nintendo's platform.
Since Microsoft rebooted Killer Instinct in 2013 as an Xbox One launch title, the franchise has remained dormant with no announcements regarding future installments.
