While many fans believed Patch 7 would be the last major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios has confirmed another substantial update set for release in 2025. This update promises to enhance the gaming experience with features like crossplay support and a photo mode, alongside the introduction of 12 new subclasses, each bringing unique mechanics to the game.
Details about four of these subclasses have already been shared, and now we're diving into the remaining ones:
Oath of the Crown Paladin
The Oath of the Crown Paladin is dedicated to upholding justice and order, prioritizing the welfare of society. This subclass features the Divine Devotion ability, which not only absorbs incoming damage to allies but also restores their health, making it a vital asset in any team.
Arcane Archer
The Arcane Archer blends martial prowess with arcane magic, using enchanted arrows that can blind, weaken, or even exile enemies to the Feywild until the next turn. A unique feature of this subclass is the ability to adjust the flight path of a missed arrow, allowing it to strike another enemy, adding a strategic depth to combat.
Drunken Master Monk
The Drunken Master Monk integrates alcohol into their fighting techniques, using it to intoxicate foes, leaving them disoriented while enhancing their own abilities. Their signature move, Instant Sobriety, when used on an intoxicated target, inflicts both physical and mental damage, making it a versatile and unpredictable combatant.
Swarmkeeper Ranger
The Swarmkeeper Ranger harnesses the power of nature by forming alliances with swarms of creatures. These swarms not only shield the ranger from harm but also assist with teleportation. In combat, they can deploy three types of swarms: electric jellyfish clusters, blinding moth clouds, and stinging bee legions. The latter can knock back enemies who fail a strength check by 4.5 meters, adding a dynamic element to battles.
