In Limbus Company, the levels of your Sinners significantly influence their combat prowess. Like in other RPGs, progressing through the game and tackling challenging content necessitates leveling up your team. Even the most formidable Sinner Identities won't stand a chance against enemies if they're underleveled. For newcomers, here's a quick guide on the best ways to earn XP for your characters.
With exciting titles like Ananta and Neverness To Everness on the horizon, I find myself craving a stylish anime game akin to these, but without the gacha mechanics. While HoYoVerse games satisfy my gacha cravings, I'm eager for a triple-A experience similar to these games, minus the RNG monetization.
Combat and Grinding --------------------For new players, the primary method of earning XP is through combat. All Sinners on your team will gain XP after successfully clearing a combat encounter, regardless of their participation in the fight. However, those who actively fought will earn more XP than those who did not. As with many free-to-play gacha games, this method can be slow, and as battles become tougher, you'll need more efficient ways to level up.
Upon reaching the midpoint of Canto 2, you'll unlock Luxcavation mode, which allows you to challenge specific enemies for various rewards. These fights are decent sources of XP, but more importantly, they provide consumable items that are excellent for leveling up.
Using Consumable Items
If grinding XP manually to max out your Sinners' Identities isn't your style, you can use Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets. These consumables are specifically designed for character leveling and come in various rarities.
Identity Training Tickets
Identity Training Tickets provide a flat amount of XP to an Identity. They serve as level-up materials similar to those found in other gacha games like Honkai Star Rail or Genshin Impact. While they're great for reducing the XP grind, you'll need a substantial number of these tickets to max out a single character. They come in four tiers, each offering increasing amounts of XP:
- Identity Training Ticket I: 50 Identity XP
- Identity Training Ticket II: 200 Identity XP
- Identity Training Ticket III: 1000 Identity XP
- Identity Training Ticket IV: 3000 Identity XP
You can obtain these tickets mainly by farming the EXP Luxcavation stages. They are also available through the free and paid Limbus Passes and periodic attendance check events.
Level Boost Tickets
Level Boost Tickets instantly elevate your Sinners' Identities to a specific level, bypassing the need for XP. These are highly valuable due to their leveling shortcut nature but are consequently much rarer. They're primarily obtained via the Limbus Pass, with occasional availability during attendance check events. Unlike training tickets, they cannot be farmed. Different Level Boost Tickets raise your characters to the following levels:
- Level Boost Ticket I: Level 10
- Level Boost Ticket II: Level 20
- Level Boost Ticket III: Level 30
- Level Boost Ticket IV: Level 40
As of now, Identities can reach a maximum level of 50. It's wise to strategically balance the use of Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets when leveling up multiple characters simultaneously.
To use these consumables, navigate to the Sinners menu and long-press the portrait of the character you wish to level up.
