The wait for June might feel endless for Magic: The Gathering fans eager to dive into the upcoming Final Fantasy set, but Wizards of the Coast has just dropped an exciting preview to keep the excitement alive. Today, they unveiled over a dozen brand-new cards from the set, featuring iconic characters such as Sephiroth, Yuffie, Cecil, Garland, Chaos, and many more. This first look not only showcases new cards but also includes a variety of art variations and the previously revealed commander cards: Tidus, Cloud, Y'shtola, and Terra.
Among the highlights are powerful legendary cards like Sephiroth and Cecil, as well as a fresh take on the Food token art. Fans can also enjoy art variations on cards like Stilzkin, Moogle Merchant; Sin, Spira's Punishment; and Summon: Shiva. You can explore the entire gallery below:

Today's reveal also introduces some unique features of the set, including Summons, which are part of Magic's first-ever Saga creatures that players can call upon for aid in battle (check out Summon: Shiva in the gallery). Additionally, the set brings back double-faced cards, exemplified by Cecil's dual sides: Dark Knight and Redeemed Paladin.
The Final Fantasy set will boast over 100 legendary creature cards, including 55 legendary borderless cards, some illustrated by renowned artists from the Final Fantasy series. This set is designed to be fully draftable and Standard-legal, set to launch on June 13 alongside four preconstructed Commander decks. Each deck, themed around Final Fantasy games 6, 7, 10, and 14, contains 100 cards, blending new Final Fantasy cards with existing cards adorned with new Final Fantasy art.
