Marvel Rivals' Fantastic Four lineup completes with The Thing and Human Torch, launching February 21, 2025. This coincides with a Season 1.5 update featuring significant balance adjustments, as teased in a recent developer blog post.
The arrival of these classic heroes promises to reshape gameplay, following the successful introduction of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman last month. Their unique abilities significantly impacted the game's meta, and similar game-changing mechanics are anticipated from Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm. Gameplay details for the new characters are yet to be revealed.
The Season 1.5 update also includes a ranked reset, dropping players four divisions. Future full seasons will see a six-division drop, while mid-season updates will maintain the four-division decrease. This system is subject to adjustments based on player feedback.
Positive changes include new costume rewards for Gold-ranked players and the introduction of Crests of Honor for top-performing players in Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All tiers (top 500).
Creative director Guangyun Chen previously confirmed a new playable character every six weeks, suggesting a steady stream of new heroes. Speculation points to Blade as the next addition, although official confirmation is pending.
