Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!
Confusion surrounded a potential rank reset in the upcoming Marvel Rivals update. While many live-service games reset ranks at the start of each season, Marvel Rivals initially planned a mid-season reset on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.
However, due to significant negative player feedback, NetEase Games reversed course. The developer announced that there will be no rank reset at the mid-season point. Players will retain their current ranks and scores. To earn new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players simply need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the end of Season 1.
This decision highlights NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and offers a positive example of developer-community interaction. Top-ranked players now have an extended period to compete at the highest levels.
Season 1 Mid-Season Update Details:
Beyond the absence of a rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) haven't been detailed yet.
