Dev Talk 11: Seasonal Rank Adjustments Revised
Marvel Rivals has responded to player concerns regarding the proposed mid-season rank reset outlined in Dev Talk 10. The initial plan, detailed in Dev Talk 10, involved a four-division rank drop for all players. This caused considerable backlash from the community, who felt it was discouraging to competitive players.
In the newly released Dev Talk 11, Marvel Rivals announced a complete reversal of this mid-season reset. Players will now retain their ranks and scores from the first half of the season. End-of-season rank resets will still occur, resulting in a six-division drop.
Human Torch, The Thing, and More Still Coming
Despite the change to the mid-season reset, other planned updates remain on track. The highly anticipated release of Human Torch and The Thing will proceed, expanding the hero roster to 39 characters. NetEase Games continues to maintain its commitment to releasing two new playable characters per season, with each season lasting three months.
Rewards for players who reach Gold rank and above will also remain unchanged. Players achieving Gold rank will receive a free Invisible Woman costume, while Grandmaster and above will receive Crests of Honor. Additional rewards, including another free costume and Crests of Honor (for Grandmaster and above), will be awarded at the end of the season. Balance adjustments are also planned following the mid-season update, though specifics are yet to be announced.

The swift response to community feedback is noteworthy. Within hours of publishing Dev Talk 10, Marvel Rivals addressed concerns and released Dev Talk 11, demonstrating a commitment to player engagement. The developers emphasized their dedication to community input, stating, "We strive to make Marvel Rivals the best game it can be, and the community is the driving force behind this mission! [...] Your engagement and support mean the world to us, and we're excited to continue this journey together!"
